HW assignment 2/6 Was the French Revolution Succesful?

After Napoleon abdicates in 1814, the revolution is officially over, and Louis XVIII is crowned King of France. Can you believe it? The monarchy returns!!! In light of our investigation of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era, evaluate the legacy of the French Revolution. Do you believe it was a success or a failure? Your response should be at least 150 words.

After Napoleon lost the war he was exiled and put out of power permanently. At this point the revolution was done, King Louis XVIII was then crowned King of France after everything the French as a people fought for. In my opinion the revolution was successful in some ways and in other ways it wasn’t. Within France, Napoleon creates a national banking system, a centralized state government, relations with Catholic Church, an educational system. He also supported science, built museums, built road and most importantly made France a "nation". For the first time, the nation represented the entirety of the population. Even after all the fighting and killing and strides to demolish the monarchy, it eventually returns. So I would say the French Revolution was sort of in the middle. The revolution was started to get rid of the monarchy and give back the power to the people. They failed at getting rid of the monarchy but they were successful in giving some of the power back to the people.
